Dubai – two worlds one city

According to the author of this photo, “Dubai has a diverse and multicultural society. The city’s cultural imprint as a small, ethnically homogeneous pearling community was changed with the arrival of other ethnic groups and nationals – first by the Iranians in the early 1900s, and later by Indians and Pakistanis in the 1960s.” The photo has a woman in bikini towards the right, which may not be seen in some browsers. Click on the photo to see it, and compare it with the dress of the woman on the left. It is amazing that such different cultures co-exist in the Middle East.
